Temporary Inconveniences
This compelling performance art piece titled "Juxtaposed Realities" explores the complex interplay between domestic and state corruption, resistance, insecurity, and the struggle to uphold honour and dignity while feeling powerless to control one's destiny. It weaves together a tapestry of interviews, legal documents, video footage, and personal impressions provided by the talented performers. The narrative unfolds in parallel, with court cases mirroring domestic issues. The diverse cast includes a mayor, a theatre school student, a doctor's patient, judges, a concerned father, and an actress, each representing different facets of the corruption dilemma. This unique production blurs the lines between traditional theatre, performance art, visual art, and installation, thanks to Katia Libkind, and is accompanied by evocative electronic music by Olesia Onykyienko. "Juxtaposed Realities" was made possible through the support of the Goethe-Institut Ukraine and the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine (EUACI).
