The Noble Erodyi
Les Kurbas Lviv Academic Youth Theater
In this play, the philosophical texts of Ukrainian philosopher Grigoriy Skovoroda intertwine harmoniously with the imagery found in Bosch's paintings, ingeniously woven into both the costumes and projections. This production stands as a testament to the theater's rich history, with its inaugural rendition dating all the way back to 1993. Grigoriy Skovoroda's utopian ideal centres on nobility and gratitude, making ethical and moral values the central themes of the performance. As aptly described by Nadia Stefurak, the chief editor of Teatrarium, this play beautifully captures Skovoroda's vision, creating an immersive experience that explores the depths of these ethical and moral values.
