Maria Zankovetska National Drama Theater
The Maria Zankovetska National Theater is one of the oldest theaters in Ukraine and in the post-Soviet space. Since the theater’s inauguration, numerous famous actors and artists have performed on its stage, including Sarah Bernhardt, Les Kurbas, Panas Saksagansky, Nicolo Paganini and Franz Liszt. The grand opening of the theater took place on the 28th March, 1842 debuting the play "Life as a Dream" by playwright F. Grillparzer, followed by ”Maiden's Vows” by comedian A. Fredr, which started its commercial success. The Maria Zankovetska National Theater orchestra is one of the best in the country with its troupe composing many concert programs, which have been presented with constant success both in Ukraine and abroad, as part of various international festivals.
