Kavka

Opera Kavka is based on Franz Kafka's iconic works: "The Trial," "Metamorphosis," and "The Castle." It explores the story of a weary, dispirited man wandering through his terrifying dreams in search of an exit. Conceived by director Marina Ryzhova, composer Victoria Shynkarenko, and conductor Ivan Stetsky in 2020, the production initially took the form of a chamber concert version due to quarantine restrictions. In 2022, the creative team resumed work on the project, and in 2023, Franz Kafka's 140th anniversary year, despite external challenges and adversities, the Ukrainian opera trilogy "KAVKA" will finally come to the stage.
